1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Overrule ("the Service"), including our website at overrule.dev, the Overrule cloud dashboard, and the Overrule Python SDK, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Overrule provides runtime AI governance infrastructure, including:
- An open-source Python SDK for policy enforcement on LLM calls
- A cloud dashboard for monitoring governance events and managing policies
- APIs for event ingestion and key management
3. Accounts
To access the dashboard, you must create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You must not create accounts for the purpose of abusing the Service or other users.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service (except the open-source SDK)
- Use the Service to store or transmit malware
- Exceed rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage restrictions
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
5. Open-Source SDK
The Overrule Python SDK is licensed under the MIT License. Your use of the SDK is governed by that license. These Terms apply to the cloud dashboard, APIs, and website — not the SDK source code itself.
6. API Keys & Access
API keys are issued for authenticating SDK communication with our cloud. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure. Do not share keys in public repositories, client-side code, or unsecured environments.
We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are being used in violation of these Terms or that pose a security risk.
7. Data & Content
You retain ownership of all data you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any data to the Service, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
8. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages that temporarily limit availability.
The SDK is designed with fail-open architecture — governance failures will not crash your application. However, during outages, event data may be buffered locally and delivered when connectivity is restored.
9. Pricing & Billing
The Free plan is available at no cost. Paid plans (when available) will be billed according to the pricing displayed at the time of purchase. We will notify you of pricing changes at least 30 days in advance.
We reserve the right to modify plan features and limits. Material changes to paid plans will be communicated via email.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Overrule shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
While Overrule helps with AI governance and compliance monitoring, we do not guarantee that using our Service will make you compliant with any specific regulation. You are responsible for understanding and meeting your own regulatory obligations.
12. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time through the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data within 30 days of account termination, unless retention is required by law.
13. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the "Last updated" date on this page and, for paid users, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Overrule operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
